Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi has tipped the Super Eagles of Nigeria to beat Cameroon when both sides clash in Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, round of 16 fixture at the Alexandria Stadium in Egypt.
Nigeria moved ahead to the next stage of the tournament after losing 2-0 to Madagascar while Cameroon played a goalless draw with Benin Republic.
”Of course we can beat them (Cameroon) even though we had a defeat in the last game it will give us a bit of humility and it will give us the hunger to go into the next game,” Iwobi told the Super Eagles media team on Friday.
He added: ”I believe we have done well, it is not easy to come and qualify."
”They said we were the favorites but we already knew that it was not going to be easy, Burundi and Madagascar played for the first time in the competition, they showed why they should be here."
”No game was easy but we were able to qualify and that’s the main thing.”
