Inter House sports is always a moment of frenzy, reunion, celebrations, exchange of gifts, pleasantries and above all a moment when new talents are discovered.
It was not different in this case when the famous school, Egini Grammar School Egini in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State as usual staged its annual inter house sport festival. This is a yearly event that has made the school stand out amongst others.
However while other houses were preparing, Obrotu house not only prepared well enough for the event, they also made a determined commitment to win the cup this time around after taking the 4th, 3rd and 2nd position in previous events. This resolve was to lay the bedrock for the eventual success of this years' inter house sports. The house is Named after Comrade Mr. McCartney Obrotu an Alumni of Egini Grammar School. The school authority decided to name the house after him due to his interest and commitment towards supporting the school.
The event was fully graced by dignitaries, the highlight of the event was the handing over of the cup to Obrotu House. For students of the house, this was the crescendo as they finally won the cup the had always eluded them.
On his part Comrade Mr. McCartney Obrotu an Alumni of the school was full of praise for the house and also praised the school management for remaining consistent in the development of the school especially in the area of sports and discovery of new talents. He promised to do more towards uplifting the school and ensuring that graduates from the school excel in their various pursuits.
He promised that the House named after him will work towards retaining the cup next season's competition.
