TEENSED Foundation trains 100 teenage girls on CODING.

Teens Economic and Social Development (TEENSED) Foundation opened up application for teenagers to apply for coding in June 2019. The coding project is the 4th phase of TEENS ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION initiated in 2016 by the foundation to empower teenagers with entrepreneurial and financial management skill as well provide seed funds to winners of   business plan writing competition. Since 2016, Teens Entrepreneurship Education has impacted over 10,000 people and raised young teenage entrepreneurs who now run their own businesses and use the proceeds to further their education and meet up with other family needs.

2019 Project is focused on the girl child with emphasis on the use of  technology to solve societal problems. The project is tagged "GIRLS CAN CODE" which is proudly sponsored by the pollination project USA. There are also partners and mentors like Teens can code, Python Nigeria, iRead Network, El Amor, Hope inspired Foundation, Carisma4u etc; who give valuable information to teenage girls for their personal and professional growth.

Girls Can Code Project is helping the girls to acquire critical thinking skill, communication skill, problem solving skill, teamwork, commitment, perseverance among others.
The project will be rounded off with Awards to the participants at the commemoration of the International day of the girl child coming up in November 2019. However, the mentorship and internship continues for another 3 months.

The Executive Director of Teen Economic and Social Development (TEENSED) Foundation, Ogechukwu Ezeokoli, stated that the project aims to raise young female tech entrepreneurs who will make a lot of impact in their generation, harness  the numerous opportunities that technology provides in this 21st century, be financially independent, provide job opportunities to peers and reduce poverty in our society.
