ECOWAS Youth Council recently gets encomiums from the people and President of Cape Verde. This was in recognition of the letter transmitted to the Cape Verde President,Jorge Carlos Fonseca, awarding him the honor of the President of the Year 2016.

In a message monitored by Changed Nigeria News in the official website of the beautiful tourist destination Nation, the president was full of praises for the youth body which has continued to show purposeful leadership for other youth organizations in West Africa and Africa as a whole.

It should be noted that In a letter sent to President Jorge Carlos Fonseca of Cape Verde, the President of the ECOWAS Youth Council, Amb. Ologun William, justifies distinguishing, through his' leadership capacity, the impact of his judiciary on citizens, education and the effort to eradicate illiteracy, others. Ologun William also highlights the qualities of the Cape Verdean people and the goal of President Jorge Carlos Fonseca in finding ways to better empower Cape Verdean youth and the entire student community of the country.


ECOWAS Youth Council is the largest youth organization in West Africa, which has more than 200 million young people, and its main objectives are to promote unity, leadership, development, freedom and entrepreneurship.


In his letter, the organization recognizes the qualities of the President of the Republic of Cape Verde as 'jurisconsult, university professor, a man who thanks to his initiatives has already secured his place in history, a constructor of the Nation, icon, charismatic leader', highlighting Their 'contribution to stability in the region'.


This is the first time that the ECOWAS Youth Council attributes the distinction, created in the course of 2014, which is addressed only to African Heads of State.
