Nasarawa PDP Weakens As More Notable Members Join APC

Lafia — More notable people have decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, a move that has compounded the weakening profile of the hitherto ruling PDP in the state.

The former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Philip Dada, the former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Hon Dauda Esu and one time permanent secretary in Nasarawa State, Mr Silas Dako have become the latest to move into the APC.

Speaking to journalists in Karu on behalf of other decampees, Philip Dada said they chose to join the APC to become an effective part of change and contribute meaningfully to the administrations of Governor Tanko Al-Makura and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dada commended Tanko Almakura for doing 'tremendously well' for Nasarawa State and slammed PDP for being a body that 'has lost direction'.

Others who also decamped included former PDP chairman Karu Local Government Area, Alhaji Sergeant Kunu and former Councilor, Kabusu Ward, Hon Ayuba Dakwoyi Yamusa, among others.

Receiving the decampees, the state chairman of the APC, Mr Philip Tatari Shekwo said it was great that they should feel the need to join the APC to actualize their political goals.
