The chairman Nigeria Governors' Forum and Zamfara State executive governor , (Dr.) Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar today Tuesday 15/11/16 described the death of 18th Sultan of Sokoto , late Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki as a great loss to the nation.
Speaking at the sultan palace in Sokoto on behalf of Nigerian governors, Yari said the contributions of the late sultan in nation building have made governance easy for the present generation.
He recalled Dasuki's role in "Local Governments Reform" , "Railway Corporation" and even the media industry as worthy of emulation. Yari further said , Dasuki was one of the initiators of present day "Jama'atul Nasrul Islam" which is today serving as umbrella union for Muslims in the country.
Abdul'aziz Yari therefore sympathised with the sultanate council, sultan Sa'ad Abubakar ||| , government, the people of Sokoto state and the Muslims world, over the irreparable loss.
He also said , Nigerian governors will continue to remember the late sultan especially the bunch of legacies he left for the younger generation.
Yari prayed for the repose of late 18th Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki and the family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
Responding , the sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar |||, on behalf of the family, thanked the governor and the Nigeria Governors' Forum for the condolence visit .
