Nigerian Lecturers May Start Losing Jobs From 2028

However one area of humanity that will never be the same again is online studies.  A Nigerian by name Osaze Joshua Obaseki-Osemwegie recently published an article on Changed Nigeria News where he warned that most Nigerian lecturers will soon start losing their jobs, he went further to explain why this will happen and what to do to mitigate against this occurrence, whether this was taken serious by Government, ASSUU or individual lecturers is another topic for discussion.

Shortly after Mr. Osaze's prediction on Nigerian Lecturers, coronavirus debuted and still persist, coming with it the renewed drive by various governments at all levels to encourage online studies as a way of stemming the fast infectious ailment from spreading further, however the idea of asking all schools to start teaching online may work against most Nigerian teachers, Lecturers and Tutorial Classes because most lack the basic knowledge of running a class online, as if this is not bad enough foreign teachers, lecturers and institutions are gradually poaching into the African market especially Nigerian making real the ever present threat of making most lecturers and teachers redundant.

Its therefore pertinent for teachers, Lecturers or Tutorial class owners to learn the online component of delivering lessons and lectures, to ignore this is to prepare for failure.

The advantages are huge, the lecturer/teacher will be able to reach larger numbers of students within a short time while spending even less to do this. There will be more to earn both in local and foreign currency because online classes can accommodate students from all parts of the world.

The fact that the cost of classes will be so low for students due to the application of technology, more students will be able to afford to attend.

According to Mr. Osaze Joshua Obaseki-Osemwegie - the man who saw tomorrow, "the future is now". Every single day a teacher or lecturer procrastinate to learn how to teach online, the nearer he or she is to unceremoniously retire.
