CHAN Super Eagles begin training in Kano

Twenty nine home-based players of the Super Eagles on Tuesday resumed training in Kano for the 2018 ‎African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying match against the Squirrels of Benin Republic.

The players had resumed from a three-day break which enabled them to play for their various clubs in the national league encounters at the weekend.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training is for the final preparation for the first leg, second round of the championship for Aug. 11 in Cotonou.‎

The training took place at the Sani Abacha Stadium with an endurance race and ball work‎ under the supervision of Coaches Salisu Yusuf, Imama Amakapabo and goalkeeper trainer, Enrico Pionetti‎.‎

They were also engaged in physical fitness, ball handling, goalkeeping and target kicks.

Toyin Ibitoye, Super Eagles Media Officer, told NAN that Abia Warriors’ striker Sunday Adetunji was out of the squad due to injury.‎

He said that the players were in high spirit, adding that “the camp is bubbling’’.

Ibitoye also commended the level of cooperation among the players and their quality of play at the training.
